The current COVID-19 situation is forcing many classroom or lecture-based educators to rethink the potential of teaching online. Still often considered a second-rate option, online teaching is now the optimal means of continuing education for those in isolation. There is good news, though: digital distance education has a long, rich and successful history. Keeping the approach simple, consistent and responsive is key.
Naturally there is plenty of advice being offered as to how educators should respond. While it’s tempting for individual educators to take technologies and solutions into their own hands, here’s some suggestions for avoiding digital chaos and managing an effective transition to online education. It starts with advice for administrators.
