ITHU Facebook grupp

Handbook on Facilitating Flexible Learning During Educational Disruption
As COVID-19 continues spreading in many countries of the world, how to keep learning in disruption has become a major challenge to the global education community. As stated by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay: “We are entering uncharted territory and working with countries to find hi-tech, low-tech and no-tech solutions to assure the continuity of learning.”
In this regard, UNESCO IITE is joining forces with UNESCO INRULED for a new Handbook on Flexible Learning during COVID-19 and released a special publication entitled “Handbook on Facilitating Flexible Learning During Educational Disruption: The Chinese Experience in Maintaining Undisrupted Learning in COVID-19 Outbreak”.

Keeping the doors of learning open COVID-19

This page provides links to a number of useful internal and external resources that have been produced over the past few weeks to support institutions and individual educators to respond to the spread of the Coronavirus. More specificially, the resource bank aims to share the advice of other educators to help both schools and higher education institutions harness the potential of online education as an important part of continuity planning. Our team is updating this page on a regular basis and welcome any suggested resources for inclusion.
Our preparations in the NIDL for the prospect of restricted campus access began in earnest on Sunday, March 8th, when we first produced our ”Keep Teaching” guidelines for DCU staff. On Tuesday, March 10th, we produced a similar ”Keep Learning” guide for DCU students. Over the next few days we developed and facilitated a series of additional online professional development events for staff, including two workshops on “The ABC of Teaching Online” and several “Using Zoom for Teaching” sessions. There was a large response to these workshops and no doubt they contributed, coupled with our considerable experience of online education through DCU Connected, to the relative smooth pivot on Monday, March 16th, to fully teaching online.

Inside Higher Ed
How COVID-19 is Changing Higher Education
The spread of the coronavirus has affected colleges and universities in the US and abroad, and it’s impacting the way campuses operate, how faculty members teach and the travel of staff and students. In this developing situation, things are changing quickly, and there’s a lot at stake.
Some of the topics that will be addressed in this webcast include:
- How quickly the crisis developed, forcing institutions to act with speed.
- How colleges are facing numerous changes to the ways they recruit and retain students.
- How colleges are changing the teaching environment from face-to-face to online.
Inside Higher Ed editor Scott Jaschik and reporter Elizabeth Redden will lead a lively discussion on these topics on Thursday, March 26th, at 2:00 pm ET.
